My 3 Friends My 3 Friends barbershop quartet with Paul Lammers singing lead, Levon King at bass, Wayne Pitchford at baritone and Jack Frucci singing tenor, have been singing barbershop harmony for about ten years. During that time, they sang in a wide variety of gigs such as parties, nursing homes, retirement centers, church services, political rallies, weddings and even funerals. They have also sung on public television, Channel 56, at the Chesaning Show Boat and in a "Music Man" play. Even though My 3 Friends has not participated in many district barbershop competitions, they did come in second on both of two occasions in the senior competitions. In addition to singing in the MY 3 Friends quartet, Paul Lammers and Jack Frucci sang with the Motor City Metro chorus and presently sing with the Huron Valley Harmonizers. Jack also sings with the Macomb County chorus and sang in the New Wrinkle quartet which won the district senior championship. Wayne Pitchford sings with the Seaway Chorale, a mixed chorus in the downriver Detroit area and Levon King previously sang with the Detroit One barbershop chorus. My 3 Friends quartet members continually strive to improve their singing skills by regular rehearsals, coaching and have participated in Harmony College. As with most quartets, they enjoy performing and entertaining their audiences with quality harmony and a wide array of barbershop songs. |
